Christ loves us to the end...

"Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end."

You can almost hear the sound of the nails penetrating the wood when you hear those words, "...the end." He humbled himself. He emptied himself. He became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Counted among transgressors, he despised the shame of it for the joy set before him. For you. For me. What a balm that is to the wretched soul who is aware of the depths of our depravity and to know that while we were there, he embraced that cross and chariot to be our champion. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and set them, not us, to open shame by triumphing over them on the cross.

CHRISTUS VICTOR!!!
