Giving witness to a man in distress
Last Saturday, I went to a landscaper supply store to order gravel. The counterperson was visibly distressed and mentioned he was having a panic attack. I shared my experience with panic attacks and how finding God helped me. He revealed he was a believer and showed me his cross necklace. He also shared personal struggles, including issues with his girlfriend and alcoholism.
I felt God brought me there that day. On Monday, after the gravel was delivered, I returned with AA meeting schedules and offered to support him. He appreciated it and felt encouraged. Later, I shared this experience at a men’s prayer group, emphasizing the importance of the Great Commission.
On Tuesday, 8/6/24, I felt God urging me to give Marco a Jesus Calling devotional. When I visited him, he shared that he felt great and had been telling others about our encounter. I gifted him the book, explaining its impact on my faith. Marco was moved and said made a doctor’s appointment for his health issues. Later, I shared this experience at a Saint Vincent DePaul meeting, inspiring others..
On Wednesday, I felt God urging me to get a selfie with Marco for my testimony, but I couldn’t visit him that day. On Thursday, I managed to see Marco and his coworker, who praised my positive impact on Marco. We took a selfie together, and I shared it with Marco. That night, I attended a different men’s group meeting where I shared my encounters with Marco, inspiring others to take action as urged by the National Eucharistic Congress.
