In His Heart

365 Days With the Carmelite Sisters & Divine Intimacy

There's something special about beginning a new year. New Year's Day seems to bring about universal cheer and individual resolutions. This happens across the world and can be found in every culture.

The potential of making a fresh start, of beginning a new, of giving yourself and others! Another chance, so to speak, is life-giving and motivating. We need it. Yet, amid our good intentions of beginning again, recommitting to the discipline of healthy habits, how often do we think of our spiritual growth?

Only God knows what our futures hold. St. Augustine says, “Trust the past, to the mercy of God, the present to His love, and the future to His providence.”

Every new year provides another precious opportunity for a fresh start, a new beginning. That means letting go of what has happened in the past and entrusting it to God's mercy the good, the not so good, our successes, and struggles, and giving it all to Him. All Of It!

Over the next 365 days, I will do my best to post inspirational quotes from two resources of meditation. In His Heart, and Divine Intimacy. These two resources encourage me in my daily life with Christ. I hope they will inspire and encourage you as well. I look forward to all of your comments. Good, bad, or indifferent.

Onward and Upward In Christ, Gilbert Alderete
