Novena St Joseph Terror of Demons

Gentlemen I am sharing a novena I have been working on and would ask you to join me in praying it leading up to the feast of St Joseph. Please feel free to provide feedback.

This novena is a combination of personal reflection and scripture including “the combat which yet remains with the flesh, with the world, with the devil”1, and the lies that keep you from being the man that God has called you to be through the powerful example and intercession of St Joseph, Terror of Demons. The term, Holy Cloak of St Joseph, is based on a 30 day novena of the same name. “And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit for forty days in the wilderness, tempted by the devil.” Luke 4:1 Logically, St Joseph would have been tempted and visited by Satan as well, in an attempt to thwart God’s plans.

Day 1

“In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.” Luke 1:26 - 27 St Joseph, you contemplated asking for Mary's hand in marriage. Did you struggle in the flesh to match the purity of Mary? Did you feel that you were not worthy of this beautiful young woman so pure? Did you struggle with feeling worthy of entering into marriage with our Lady?  St Bernard suggests, “She is so perfect and so great that I do not deserve to share her intimacy any longer; her astonishing dignity is beyond me, it frightens me.” You overcame these temptations knowing your true identity given to you by God as one from the house and lineage of David. When you learned that Mary was with child, did you count the cost to yourself? You hearken to God's message from an angel, “But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” Matt 1:20-25  You were restored and strengthened to do the will of God the Father. Your trust in God chased away all fears and doubts.

Do you struggle with feeling worthy of the gifts God has given you? Do you not accept them because you believe the lie of Satan that causes you to forget that you were made in the image and likeness of God?  “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.....And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” Gen:2- 7

Personal Intention We request that the Holy Spirit be with our speakers Jon Leonetti, Brother Simon and Brother John Paul so they may reach the men in attendance. We humbly request that men are drawn to hear this message but especially the young man. Place a stirring in the heart of those whom you want to attend. Continue to bless God Squad Canada and the ministries of all our speakers current and past!

St Joseph, cover me with your Holy Cloak and chase away the enemy. Please ask Mary to comfort me and ask Jesus to heal me from the lies of Satan. Request that the Holy Spirit reveal my true identity as seen by God the Father.

Say an Our Father, a Hail Mary, a Glory Be and St Joseph Terror of Demons prayer.
