Pray for our brothers in the Archdiocese of Detroit 🙏✝️
The Archdiocese of Detroit’s decision to end the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass in parish churches by July 1 is very disheartening, especially for the growing number of men who are finding strength, clarity and direction through this beautiful and sacred liturgy. At a time when the Church is facing deep challenges, the Traditional Latin Mass is quietly helping to rebuild something solid and lasting.
Across the country, ministries for men are seeing a resurgence and the TLM is playing a key role. It calls men to something higher like discipline, reverence and responsibility. It doesn’t cater to trends; it challenges us to step up, to lead our families and to take our faith seriously. For many men, especially younger ones, it’s been a lifeline in an uncertain, noisy, “woke”, chaotic world.
This isn’t about division or rejecting the Church. It’s about holding on to something that’s proven to bear fruit. We’re not looking for a museum piece or ancient relics, we’re looking for something that forms us, grounds us and points us toward heaven. The Traditional Latin Mass does that in a way that’s resonating with a lot of us.
Moving it out of parish churches sends the wrong message. It says that there’s no room in the mainstream life of the Church for traditional worship, even though it’s helping men grow in faith.
The Church is strongest when it embraces both its roots and its mission. We hope and pray for a future where tradition, faith formation and evangelization walk hand in hand.
