Reflecting on the innocence of the elderly and the grace of entering Heaven as pure as a child...
Working in radiology, I'm privileged to care for many elderly patients. Their quiet demeanor, curious gazes, and gentle kindness often remind me of the innocence of a child. In their later years, they rely on others for even the most basic needs, much like a child needing care.
It makes me ponder: how blessed would we be to live to such an age, to be assured of eventually returning to a state of grace like that of a child, ready to enter the gates of Heaven? It's a profound reminder that our journey towards God is a return to a state of pure innocence and love.
Scripture reminds us in Matthew 18:3, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Let us strive to embrace that innocence and humility in our hearts as we journey towards our heavenly home.
May we all be granted the grace to approach our final days with the innocence and purity of a child, ready to enter the eternal embrace of our loving Father. Amen.
( I chose to put this under "Heroic Stories" because it reflects on the innocence and purity of elderly people, drawing parallels to the innocence of a child and the journey towards God. )
