Reflection on the feast of Blessed Paul

"The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:16 Today we celebrate the feast of the conversion of Blessed Paul, the apostle to the Nations. O Saul what did you see on your way to Damascus? I saw him whom my soul desires, and he placed before me the instrument of his victory, his saving cross. See, the persecutor has become the persecuted, the Ram who strayed from the flock, has returned as a lamb to the fold, grace has subdued and transformed nature, Saul has decended into the waters of baptism and Paul has arisen like one newly born from the dead. Let us therefore rejoice in the Lord who takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but who desires their conversion.
