Regret vs Repentance

Happy weekend Brothers.

This morning at our Defenders of the Holy Manger gathering, we discussed episode 2 of a 5 part series from Dr. Siri called No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion.

We focused on Jesus’ arrest and trial. Here is a very interesting take away.

St. Peter and Judas both denied our Lord. Both equal in their offense to the Lord.

Regret vs Repentance. One focuses on self, a form of pride. “How could I have done such a thing?” One focuses on Christ. “Forgive me Lord for I have sinned,”

One leads to death, one leads to life!

We know which one Judas chose, and we know which one St. Peter chose.

We also know which one satan wants us to choose and which one Our Lord hopes we choose.
