Today's reflection

"But he did not speak to them without a parable. Yet separately, he explained all things to his disciples." Mark 4:34 The following group of people make up Jesus' regular audience in the gospel narratives: The Chief priests, Pharisees, Sadducees and the Scribes(group 1), the crowd(group 2), the disciples(group 3), and the 12 apostles (group 4). The 12 were the closest to Jesus, and to them he revealed his inner most secrets. Remember, all these group of persons listened regularly to Jesus, but only the 12 knew Jesus. What is your relationship with Jesus? Which group do you find yourself? Are you among the fault finding religious leaders who place heavy burdens on others? (Mark 2:16), Are you among the miracle seeking crowd who are tossed here and there by every wind of doctrine? (John 6:22, 26-27) Are you among the crowd of disciples of Jesus who pick and choose which teaching and doctrine to follow? (John 6: 61, 67) Or are you among the 12, who will remain with Jesus to the end? (John 6:68-69)
