Yesterday's Psalm 103

I was really caught off guard while playing the Psalm Response yesterday. I applied to ME:

The Lord is kind and merciful. Not according to our sins does He deal with us. Nor does He requite us according to our crimes. As far as the east is from the west, He has put our transgressions from us.

Mind you, I've been a church organist for close to 40 years and have played this Psalm hundreds of times. It really resonated with me yesterday. Almost as if I'd never truly heard them. It's not easy being in my position; knowing (or assuming) people think I am perfect. Which I am the furthest from.

I'm not sure yet how safe a space this is to reveal some of my deepest transgressions. Suffice it to say I am a sinner and by no means the least.

Lots to say and I will get to all of it in time.
